One page of a website that is often not as effective as it could be is the About Us page. After all, when we finally get to writing that page, we’re tired out by the process of website writing. We’re at the end of writing an entire website. Sometimes we even get into a “silly” state of mind and drop our businesslike manner, and “let it all hang out”. Some people even make the mistake of talking about hobbies or posting funny baby pictures of themselves.

Make no mistake about it though, the About Us page is your “deal closer”. This is where you show potential clients that you can deliver on the promises you’ve made on your other web pages. If you want to sell your services on the web, consider these seven for the website writing of your About Us web page.

1) Be sure that you take the tone that illustrates your business effectiveness – even on the About Us page. For most types of businesses you wouldn’t want a too casual presentation of yourself and to, in effect, discredit the targeted information you so carefully crafted and presented on the other pages of your website.

2) What you include on the About Us page should cohesively fit with and support your statements on the other pages. Demonstrate the ways your preparation proves you can deliver on all aspects of what you say you can do for them. If there are ways that your leisure activities are connected to your business life and support your expertise, include them.

3) Look for things to include that bolster the information you’ve already presented on other pages. Maybe your hobby shows an area of expertise not demonstrated by your credentials. Your civic activities might illustrate your leadership skills. Perhaps your travel and explorations show a depth of knowledge about your area of expertise. You might include arcane studies that demonstrate unique specialization. Put together the whole picture of what you bring to the services you provide.

4) It is particularly powerful to show a career path that demonstrate a solid foundation for your business. Don’t be boring by going into too much detail, but do pull out relevant details and weave a powerful picture of your depth of experience. This can make your prospect feel very confident that they’d be safe in your hands. You want them convinced that with your background you definitely do know how to help them and that you’d know what to do for their problems. Think about your own experiences on the Web.

When you are on a site and you’re finally interested enough to read the About Us page of your potential provider, what do you need to see to go forward and become a client? You want them to prove to you that they know their stuff! You want to feel certain they’re credible. You are looking or the clincher, and you want to be sold. You’re seriously interested if you’re reading this page. You want to be convinced and to believe that your search for a solution is over.

5) The About Us page might be a place to describe a new emphasis in your business and what led you to that. The best way to do this could be to describe specific clients and how their results influenced you to change the direction of your business.

6) It is effective to describe aspects of your business that are intriguing. This might be things like having worked with a renowned, well-known person, being mentioned by a star name, or working for a spectacular company. If this information contributes a strong and cohesive credibility, by all means include it.

7) If you have solved the same problem for yourself that you solve for clients, definitely tell this story on your About Us page, especially when it inspired you to create the services you provide. There is nothing more credible to a prospect than knowing that you have suffered from an overcome the same problem they are struggling with. Perhaps share how your life is now years later because you found that answer. Maybe talk about the positive results your family and friends have enjoyed or your long-term benefits. See what you can include that reinforces their feeling of hope and trust.

Be sure that you take full advantage of your About Us page to sell you personally, clinch the deal, build your credibility, and ensure a prospect’s confidence in you. Don’t hold back from the opportunity.

One example of experiential marketing is the use of brand ambassadors. A brand ambassador can range from a celebrity endorsing a product, to an employee promoting their company through blogging or articles. A brand ambassador is simply there to represent a company in a positive light. They may portray an aspect of your business, or you can even change the image of your brand via a well placed celebrity or two.

A popular celebrity can emotionally tie a brand to the general public. When a celebrity the public has grown to love and trust over many years endorses a product, consciously or unconsciously, the public are influenced by their well loved celebrity figure heading a brand. However, sometimes advertisers will employ a brand ambassador that their target audience see themselves in, rather than a purely a celebrity.

For instance, the Walmart owed supermarket chain, Asda, has used several stereotypical northern mothers in their latest campaign. They have obviously researched their main customer base and realised that working class mothers are their main demographic. They then marketed themselves accordingly. But sometimes a company can actually promote themselves to a new audience through a brand ambassador, and change the perception of their brand.

WKD, an alcopop manufacturer, has also tried to change its brand image via the clever use of a brand ambassador or two. Alcopops are traditionally looked upon as a women’s drink in the UK, and a man caught drinking a WKD in public could be considered effeminate, contradicting the strong associations with beer and spirits in Britain.

WKD have attempted to alter this perception in their TV advertising campaigns. The adverts in question feature lads pulling pranks on each other, laughing and having fun, all whilst drinking WKD. The male population sees men drinking the aforementioned alcopop and see it as acceptable for them to do the same. The women are catered for by the good looking males and humorous situations, showing the power of a well thought out marketing campaign.

A company can also promote themselves by publishing regular blogs from an employee, the employee essentially becoming brand ambassador. This can humanise your company and project a desired image to the outside world. People nowadays are well aware of marketing techniques, and do not just want to hear celebrity (who they know has been paid) endorsing a brand. Providing an employees view into your organisation can help to remove the barrier between customer and company.

There are millions of online stores on the internet at the moment and competition is just as fierce on the web as it is for conventional stores, especially in these times of economic uncertainty. Despite growth in consumer confidence, shopping online stills trails well behind more conventional methods of shopping and it is essential that online stores employ marketing methods to promote their sites in the same way as any other store does.

A prerequisite is that your site is secure and encrypted and that you use as many methods as possible to ensure that your site is high in the search engine rankings; but it is not only on the internet that your store needs to be promoted. More and more website addresses are being advertised on television because SEO is not enough to attract the volume of customers that online store owners need to make their businesses sustainable. Other sites are offering promotional gifts as a way to attract new customers and influence repeat business from existing users.

One of the most popular and appropriate promotional products to give away with an online order is the USB flash drive bearing the name of the store, website address and any other relevant contact details on the casing. Printed USBs and other computer accessories are absolutely fantastic incentives to encourage new and repeat business from computer users because you know that they will be appropriate, useful and welcomed by consumers who shop online.

You might even consider giving two away with each order “one for the customer and one for his friend”. In this way your customer will promote your store for you by giving away the extra printed USB as a gift to a friend or colleague.

Advertising your online store via television is more effective if you are on the shopping channels but in regular viewing times it will be less effective, unless you launch a very long campaign with regular slots. Most people watch television in their lounges or bedrooms to relax and these are not necessarily places where a notepad and pen are immediately to hand. By the time they have gone off to look for something to write a website address down with, the advertisement is finished and they have to wait for the next time it appears. So it is really a bit “hit and miss.” However, both these methods of TV promotion are really expensive in comparison to utilising printed USBs and other promotional products, from which you will achieve better results because your market is targeted and not random.

Provided you have good products or services and that your delivery is expedient your customers will be further impressed when they receive high perceived value and quality gifts such as printed USBs from you. There is also an additional marketing advantage with these items in that you can store product or service information on them so that the file can be opened at home by your customer. As a retail item, USB flash drives are quite expensive because they are relatively new technology whereas they cost very little when purchased in bulk from an established online supplier. There is no doubt that your customers will appreciate something that saves them additional cost in purchasing an item coveted by all computer users.

When marketing with postcards, one important element to consider is your mailing list. This is actually true in any direct mail campaign. You need to have the correct mailing list to ensure you generate the response that you desire.

A lot of businesses don’t have any idea where they can get their mailing list. Although you can always buy or rent a list from a reliable provider, if you are on a limited budget, it is best to make your own list.

If you do decide to make your own list, you would need to manage your list effectively to it updated. If ever there are people who changed address or refuse to accept your cards, you need to take them out of the list. If you are ready to create your own list, here are some pointers for you to follow:

First, you need to understand your target audience. Whether you are consolidating physical address or email, it’s important that know who your target market is. You would only waste time and money in collecting names that are not suited to your market. In most cases, it’s best to have a small list of accurate names that are likely to buy your products or services than create a big list with names of people who are not likely to get interested in your offerings. You can always get names online, from networking events, or joint marketing with other businesses that cater to the same market as you.

Second, plan ahead. If you want to ensure that you don’t lose data, which will require to start from scratch, it is important that you plan your list carefully.

Third, use a reliable database or software that will keep your list safe. Although you can always keep your mailing list in a spreadsheet, it is best to use a program that can safe keep it for a long time. This will help you make changes easily and find names that you need quickly. You need not worry of putting the same name in your spreadsheet as the program will ensure you don’t do double listing.

Fourth, check the list twice. It crucial that the names and contact details you put in your list is accurate. For this reason, you need to check the list over and over again to guarantee that the right names are in your list. In doing so, you can save a lot of time and money in doing things all over again. Keep in mind that once you have your list, it’s critical that you keep it updated. If there are changes in names and address or there are returned mails, make the necessary changes at once. This will surely save you a lot of money. Remember also to add names in your list every time you are taking out one. This will ensure that you have a fresh supply of names to send your postcard printing.

Creating and maintaining a good mailing list takes some form of dedication. If you are able to do this well, you can be sure to get your message out to the right people. This in turn will result in a successful marketing campaign and give you good return on investment-a simple effort done for a great return in the end.

Would you agree that a loyal person must be rewarded and given due recognition? To encourage customer loyalty is probably one of the greatest goals that every advertiser has. It is truly rewarding to have customers who pledge to patronize your products and services no matter what. If you’re looking for a perfect opportunity to show your appreciation to your customers, you might want to do it during International Customer Loyalty Month, which is commonly done in April. Promotional products customized as gifts or incentives are ideal to give out to the valuable members of your staff.

I guess the important question to ask now is, “Which logo printed products are ideal to give to your loyal customers?” In case you don’t know yet, there are hundreds of different kinds of promotional items sold nowadays. What makes it more difficult is the fact that a large percentage of these products are highly useful items, which makes it really tough to have to come up with a product choice.

To help you with this dilemma, I have enumerated a few promotional products suggestions that can hopefully help you locate the perfect customer loyalty gift. These items really have what it takes to make your customers feel like their patronage is truly appreciated:

1. Promotional Work Shirts – This may comprise shirts or forms of apparel that they can use for work. If you have a really specific target audience, you can order the same kind of shirts for them and just try to personalize them first before you give it out. Imprint some meaningful messages that they will treasure for a long time.

2. Embroidered Slippers – Spoil your customers by giving them some comfy and durable slippers which they can use everyday. It is always good to give items that people can use daily because they’ll be able to take full advantage of their benefits. Look for stylish and functional pieces that can fit anyone.

3. Imprinted Home Ware Tools – At the end of the day, everyone comes home to their families and loved ones. What better way to reward your customers than by giving them household tools which can get them through daily tasks? These products will surely delight them.

Customized products may just be the perfect customer recognition tools you’ll ever find. These items can be maximized, not only in trade shows and launching days, but during special events as well, like International Customer Loyalty Month for instance. Just make sure to buy the right promotional products for the job.

Have you ever used financial matters as themes for marketing events before? If you’re thinking of doing that now, you can start by celebrating Financial Literacy Month in April. It is one of those occasions that are not that well-known yet, so it really needs some immediate promotions. And if you’re thinking about doing campaigns and promotions, there’s only one other term that should be considered: promotional products.

For years, the use of personalized products as advertising tools has been a practice done by those affiliated in the marketing field, especially by advertisers. They choose from a wide variety of product options as to which ones are most ideal to utilize in the event they’re organizing. One of the concerns that advertisers have is the dilemma of finding the right theme to use for the campaign.

Financial Literacy Month is great to use as a potential marketing event. You don’t believe me? Well, you better do because I am out to prove to you that using this event as advertising theme can reap publicity rewards for your business and practical knowledge for your target audience. Here are some examples of the benefits that you can acquire if you use promotional products as campaign tools and the event Financial Literacy Month as theme:

1. It can equip your target audience with basic financial skills – Do you have clients that have always been scared to be engaged in business matters? If they’re financially literate, they don’t have to worry about that anymore. Give them suitable custom logo products that can empower them to become better business individuals or items that help them get through office tasks like promotional staple removers and custom printed memo accessories.

2. It can help your target audience improve their future business strategies – If your customers and clients are already engaged in the business or economic industry, you can help them hone their skills by providing them avenues for improvement.

3. It can make you a more competitive and capable advertiser – As the organizer of the event, you’ll be able to garner more publicity and eventually improve your status as marketing expert. That will be a big plus, don’t you think?

Promotional products can indeed give you huge marketing benefits if you just know how to use them well. Don’t be scared to try using special events as trade show themes. Who knows? This might just be the lucky break you’re hoping for.

The success of your service business depends on your ability to consistently and effectively market your solutions. So why is it that so few solopreneurs are spending the necessary time and energy on marketing? In my coaching work, these are the excuses I hear most often:

“I don’t have enough time to market”
“I don’t have enough money to market my business”
“I’m too overwhelmed to market”
If you find that you have similar thoughts running through your mind, I have good news for you! There are simple strategies you can tap into to bust through these excuses and find the time, money and organization that you need to market consistently. Once you put these excuses behind you, you’ll be able to create the successful business that you’ve always wanted.

“I don’t have enough time to market” – When you own your own business, you often wear a number of different “hats” each day. From following up with clients to planning new programs, to doing the actual work of your service business, your day is packed with various tasks. But marketing is an essential activity that you have to make time for on a monthly, weekly and daily basis. By diligently setting asides specific blocks of time to work on your marketing, you can easily create massive visibility for your work in just a few hours each week. With just a bit of planning, you’ll be able to fit marketing no matter how busy your schedule seems.
“I don’t have enough money to market my business.” – If you’re thinking of marketing in terms of sending out direct mail pieces, buying advertising space or printing flyers, you may think that you don’t have enough money for marketing. While it’s true that there are many marketing activities that cost money, there are dozens of free to low-cost ways to market your services. For example, leveraging social media and hosting teleseminars is not only very effective but completely free. Don’t try to reinvent the week and make the process more difficult than it needs to be! By implementing low-cost marketing methods you can increase your reach even on a budget.
“I’m too overwhelmed to market.” – If this is your mantra, it’s time to change your perspective about your business. No matter how busy you are with your current clients, you need to market consistently to keep your pipeline full and your income steady. The solution lies in your creating s specific marketing plan to achieve your goals and then working that plan. In doing so you will avoid getting distracted by irrelevant opportunities and feelings of overwhelm, because you will be taking action on the RIGHT activities week in and week out. This will help you feel more positive, in control and less overwhelmed – all while you are consistently enrolling ideal clients into your practice.
“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right” – Henry Ford. We are all gifted the same amount of time each day. What you choose to do with that time is entirely up to you. But know this, you will not grow your business and achieve your goals if you don’t market your solutions. So you can’t afford NOT to invest time and financial resources into connecting with the people that need what you have to offer. Don’t allow excuses to stand in the way of your ability to create the profitable and successful business you deserve!

What can you say about the social status of women these days? Would you say that there is equality and fairness between men and women? For those who are advocates of gender equality or more specifically, women’s rights, the event Informed Women Month is one occasion that you must aim to celebrate. This event, observed in April, gives all people a chance to show women all over the world, just how big their role can be in shaping the society. Do you wish to organize a marketing event for it? Then buy promotional products and use them as official advertising tools.

There are many various kinds of custom imprinted products that are great to use for this event. You will be able to conduct a successful marketing event with the use of these simple but effective promotional items. After all, everyone should be encouraged to commemorate this event, so they can help realize the identified goals, one of which is to make women more informed about their responsibilities and function in the community in which they live.

What are the different points that you should be made during this event? How can promotional products help in stressing these points out? Here are some of the ways:

1. Women Can Do Anything – Personalized products that embody or symbolize power and strength are some of the more favorable types you should buy. They can make women realize that although they are not as physically strong as men, they can still do anything that men can if they just work hard for it.

2. Women Have Different Needs – I think everyone knows and realizes by now that men and women have different needs and that all of these needs must be met in order to maintain harmony and order in the society. You can give promotional products that aim to address the unique needs of women, like promotional aprons and custom logo socks which they can use regularly.

3. Women Needs Equal Treatment in all Aspects of Life – It is fortunate for many of us to be born in a time when women are not harshly treated anymore. But it seems that as time passes by, more and more people are once again depriving women of their rights. Promotional items can be used as instruments for people to be reminded that women must also be given the same respect that men get.

Celebrating events like this need not be difficult to do, if you know how to strategize. Choose items that are perfectly tailored for the event. Have you fabricated some ideas on which items to buy for this occasion?

Although door to door leaflet distribution is one of the most productive and cost-effective ways of marketing, it can be problematic finding a reputable flyer delivery service that will guarantee distribution with experienced leafleters, instead of hiring a gang of unemployed people and not watching them adequately!

It is better to search a leaflet company that is well-established, as a new leaflet distribution business tends to make numerous errors at your expense! Local firms are better than national leaflet firms that supposedly attempt to direct your distribution from hundreds of miles away by subcontracting the work to the first company on Google that picks up the phone and adds a substantial amount to your invoice for this! It is purely not possible to oversee a flyer campaign adequately from a long distance, especially checking that they have actually been delivered, such as by knocking on doors or asking people who you know locally. References are useful and any professional door drop company should be able to provide them. A leaflet distribution franchise would offer a more systematic, well thought out service than an independent leaflet delivery service that started up last month!

Areas are different, so for example, leaflet distribution in Surrey, Sussex and Kent is not quite the same as London in terms of how densely packed the housing is. This means it takes longer to drop 1,000 leaflets, so therefore it will cost more. Also, bigger houses that are more spaced out are less likely to be leafleted intensively, so the response rate should be higher.

The thickness and size of your leaflet is important. Some flyers are awful! Not only do they look bad on poor quality paper, but it the light paper crumples in letterboxes, as many of them have draught excluders and require a heavier leaflet to go through properly. The grams per square meter are vital. Big leaflets are also harder to deliver and tend to be folded, so a customer would have to unfold them in order to read them.

Realistically, the only organisation capable of doing country lanes is the Royal Mail’s door to door or door drop service. For private marketing companies, it is simply not cost effective. You might imagine that postmen are always reliable, but I have been told in confidence by postmen that some of them do actually dump leaflets, as they are not checked and it is simply extra work for them.
